Ask, Listen, Encourage Action & Check In to Help Your Mates
Liked our last post and want to get in your friends corner? Well R U OK? Day has some ripper tips for doing just that.
ASK
Trust your gut, ask R U OK? In a comfortable, quite place. You can voice your concerns and let them know of any changes you’ve noticed.
LISTEN
You don’t need to immediately fix the problems, but lend a supportive ear (tune in for our post tomorrow for more on listening).
ENCOURAGE ACTION
Brainstorm some steps to help manage the situation – chatting to family or checking in with a GP.
CHECK IN
Follow up and let your friend know you’re thinking about them. Encourage them to let you, or another trusted confidant, know how they’ve been going.
